Children with Floating-Harbor syndrome often can’t thrive in a typical classroom. Getting them what they need can mean private instruction, specialized therapies, communication devices, or simply time a parent can’t afford to take off work. Those costs add up fast, and they rarely fit neatly into anyone’s coverage.
The Floating Harbor Family Assistance Fund puts money directly toward those needs.
What the fund can help with
- Alternative schooling and private instruction when a regular school isn’t an option
- Tutoring and educational materials
- Therapies not covered by insurance or the school: speech, occupational, physical, behavioral
- Communication devices and assistive technology
- Travel to specialists who understand rare conditions
- Respite and other support for caregivers
Grants are made at the discretion of our Founder and CEO, Heather Russell. She knows firsthand where a family’s need is most urgent.
